Rustic Wheel Platter Snack (Print)

A visually striking round board with celery and meat sticks arranged for easy sharing.

# Components:

→ Vegetables

01 - 6 large celery stalks, trimmed and cut into 10 cm sticks

→ Meats

02 - 12 beef, turkey, or pork meat sticks, approximately 10 cm each (e.g., Slim Jim or similar)

→ Dips (optional)

03 - 120 ml ranch dressing
04 - 120 ml honey mustard
05 - 120 ml hummus

# Directions:

01 - Place a large round wooden board or platter on your work surface.
02 - Position a small bowl containing your chosen dip in the center of the board, if using.
03 - Arrange celery sticks radiating outward from the center bowl, forming spokes on half of the board.
04 - Fill the spaces between celery sticks with meat sticks to create alternating spokes, resembling a wheel.
05 - Present the platter immediately, allowing guests to grab and dip the spokes as desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It takes roughly ten minutes to assemble but looks like you spent way more effort, which is always a win when entertaining.
  • Everyone reaches for their favorite spoke first, making it feel interactive rather than just another platter sitting on a table.
  • Works perfectly for parties where you want something healthy-leaning that nobody will skip over for the heavier appetizers.
02 -
  • Cut celery to consistent lengths so the wheel looks intentional rather than haphazard; even a quarter-inch difference in height catches the eye and disrupts the pattern.
  • Trim celery ends at an angle instead of straight across—it looks more polished and prevents the stalks from sitting awkwardly on the board.
03 -
  • Buy meat sticks a day or two before the party so you can inspect them for quality and let them come to room temperature just before serving—they're less rubbery than straight from the fridge.
  • Use a serrated knife for celery so it doesn't crush or splinter at the cut end, which keeps your sticks looking neat and prevents them from becoming stringy.
