# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It tastes fancy and impressive but takes barely ten minutes, leaving you free to actually enjoy your guests instead of fussing in the kitchen.
  • No alcohol means everyone at the table can share it, from kids to designated drivers to anyone who just wants something celebratory without the complications.
02 -
  • Muddling is a lesson I learned by doing it wrong; press gently to release oils from the mint, but aggressive muddling bruises the leaves and turns your drink bitter and murky.
  • The sparkling water absolutely must go in last and right before serving, because once those bubbles start escaping, they're gone forever and you lose that crisp, celebratory feeling.
03 -
  • Make a simple syrup by heating equal parts sugar and water, then cooling it completely; it dissolves faster than agave and tastes somehow cleaner in cold drinks.
  • If you forget to chill the sparkling water, add extra ice but do it gently so the bubbles don't all escape at once and leave you with a flat disappointment.
